I Have been wondering which plane would be a good second plane. I have an Avistar Trainer plane now.

I would have to say it all depends on what kind of flying you would like to do. Do you wish to do pattern type flying or more aerobatic manuvers.

The only limits are down!

I am wondering is it smart to go from a top wing trainer like the Avistar to a bottom wing plane like the Tiger 60 ARF for a second plane?

The Super Sportster is a stable low winger having no bad habits. Makes a good tail dragger. Easy as a trainer to fly and can also fly fast and can be as aerobatic as you want.

I know of the Super Sportster but I do not know much about its habits. I built a Sportster about 15 years ago for a friend. I will look into one. I have an older Tiger 2 I want to get off the ground. I hope it will behave.
