Does anyone make a covering like comes on the Tower Trainers? It looks like the vinyl material we used for decals on full size race cars? I noticed on a wing I am repairing it has an adhesive backing and rolls up when you put heat on it. It does not behave like Monokote.

Most of the vinyl materials that you will find will be a little heavy for airplanes. And it will not shrink like Monokote or Ultracote. It can be a pain to put on too. The way I apply decals sometimes is to use a spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish detergent in it . Just spray it on and then apply the decal, or in your case the covering, get it in place, then squeegee out the water. Why couldn't you use Monokote to do the repair?

You can do it, you just have to try!

I did the repair with Monokote but I was just noticing the composition of the material that was used to cover the wing from the factory. If you heat it with an iron or heat gun it will stretch rather than contract and is sticky on the contact surface when cool also. Monokote repair is a little tricky on this material.
